THE MOST DANGEROUS MAN IN AMERICA

It is Barack Hussein Obama? Nope. He's dangerously stupid and dangerously easy to manipulate but he's just the front guy. It is Rahmbutt "Dead Fish" Emanuel? Nah, this former Israeli army axle greaser is just another corrupt tool. Is it Robert "Goebbels" Gibbs? Nope, he's just another liberal mouthpiece for the fellow travelers in the government.

No, the most dangerous man in America is Obummer's Regulatory Czar, far left nutjob Cass Sunstein.

This kook wrote: "Conspiracy Theories" back in 2008.

For example: "Accordingly, we will focus on indirect means of undermining such theories, principally by breaking up the closed informational networks that produce such theories."

Closed informational networks? Would that be media outlets like Fox News or Breitbart, or Rush Limbaugh who refuse to toe the line? How about the fact that Rahmbutt Emanuel holds daily "press conferences" with the Lapdog Media to give them their marching orders for the day? Wouldn't that be labeled under a fascist-type of organization like the one led by Herr Goebbels or more currently, one labled PRAVDA like in the former Soviet Union?

In another example: "Inevitably people must rely on the beliefs of other people. Some people will require a great deal of evidence in order to accept a conspiracy theory; others will require much less. People will therefore have different “thresholds” for accepting or rejecting such a theory and for acting on the basis of the theory. One way to meet a relevant threshold is to supply direct or indirect evidence. Another way is simply to show that some, many, or most (trusted) people accept or reject the theory."

Classic stuff here from the Left. If the public believes one thing, why, the government merely has to supply other information through approved outlets. Again, just like what the USSR and other communist countries and other totalitarian regimes do. Or better still, do like Obama did during the ObummerKare campaign, and trot out paid drones in white coats to promulgate the approved lies of their Dear Leader.

So what does Sunstein, Obummer's Regulatory Czar propose in his paper?

"What can government do about conspiracy theories? Among the things it can do, what should it do? We can readily imagine a series of possible responses. (1) Government might ban conspiracy theorizing. (2) Government might impose some kind of tax, financial or otherwise, on those who disseminate such theories. (3) Government might itself engage in counterspeech, marshaling arguments to discredit conspiracy theories. (4) Government might formally hire credible private parties to engage in counterspeech. (5) Government might engage in informal communication with such parties, encouraging them to help."

That's heady stuff from the left. Ban them. Tax them. Or better still, engage in "counterspeech" or moreover, hire PRIVATE firms to engage in "counterspeech" which used to be known as "disinformation."

Nowhere in Sunstein's diatribe is a reaffirmation of the First Amendment. No, it actually states at its core, bypassing the First Amendment or in other ways, ignoring it all together, and using government to do it.

Here is where Comrade Sunstein comes out of the "ivory-towered closet."

"Here we suggest two concrete ideas for government officials attempting to fashion a response to such theories. First, responding to more rather than fewer conspiracy theories has a kind of synergy benefit: it reduces the legitimating effect of responding to any one of them, because it dilutes the contrast with unrebutted theories. Second, we suggest a distinctive tactic for breaking up the hard core of extremists who supply conspiracy theories: cognitive infiltration of extremist groups, whereby government agents or their allies (acting either virtually or in real space, and either openly or anonymously) will undermine the crippled epistemology of those who subscribe to such theories. They do so by planting doubts about the theories and stylized facts that circulate within such groups, thereby introducing beneficial cognitive diversity."

Infiltration of those hard core extremist groups. Wow. If one reads about the tactics of fascists and communists, they will find the exact same style of thinking. Don't like this group, why, get the FBI to put in agent provocateur's to incite something that they can arrest them all for. Don't like the Tea Party? Why, just meet with Andy Stern a few dozen times and get the SEIU to put out "infiltrators" to hold up racist signs and spout racist solgans in order to try to discredit the Tea Party. Too bad for Obama and his ilk that it did not work. Americans are too smart to believe the lies spouted from this regime.

Sunstein proposes: "all misinformation (the initial conspiracy theory) should be met with countermisinformation."

So Sunstein now proposes that if, say, one person starts a website that says that Obama was born in Kenya and raised there, that the government should start its own website saying its own set of lies? Note the word, countermisinformation. Counter: opposite, contrary. Misinformation: information that is incorrect.

So countermisinformation is basically a set of lies contrary to what someone else is saying. Is that what our government is supposed to do? Is that the transparency that the clown running this regime promised?

In yet another totalitarian spout, Sunstein writes: "Government can partially circumvent these problems if it enlists nongovernmental officials in the effort to rebut the theories. It might ensure that credible independent experts offer the rebuttal, rather than government officials themselves. There is a tradeoff between credibility and control, however. The price of credibility is that government cannot be seen to control the independent experts. Although government can supply these independent experts with information and perhaps prod them into action from behind the scenes, too close a connection will prove self-defeating if it is exposed."

So he proposes to trot out some drones, like the white-coated pseudo doctors espousing Obummerkare, paid for with nice white coats (in case they forgot to bring one), to be "independent experts" for ObummerKare. Which is, as we all know, exactly what they did.

Cognitive infiltration, as espoused by Sunstein is: "Rather than taking the continued existence of the hard core as a constraint, and addressing itself solely to the third-party mass audience, government might undertake
(legal) tactics for breaking up the tight cognitive clusters of extremist theories, arguments and rhetoric that are produced by the hard core and reinforce it in turn. One promising tactic is cognitive infiltration of extremist groups."

In other words, infiltrate these groups to try to break up the ideological beliefs of these groups. Sunstein goes on to say:

"We suggest a role for government efforts, and agents, in introducing such diversity. Government agents (and their allies) might enter chat rooms, online social networks, or even real-space groups and attempt to undermine percolating conspiracy theories by raising doubts about their factual premises, causal logic or implications for political action."

Simply put, WOW! Government agents undermining the beliefs "deemed conspiracy theories" by someone in the government, and all done with our tax dollars. Sunstein sums up his fascist paper with this:

"We have suggested, however, that government can minimize this effect by rebutting more rather than fewer theories, by enlisting independent groups to supply rebuttals, and by cognitive infiltration designed to break up the crippled epistemology of conspiracyminded groups and informationally isolated social networks."

The more we dig into the vermin inside this regime, the more it resembles what we saw in the USSR and Nazi Germany and all from Comrade Zero's Regulatory Czar, who doesn't have to answer to Congress, the Senate, or the American people.

  1. I am not at all surprised at your hysteria in the face of Sunstein's musings on how to counter nutjob conspiracy theories, Gunster, since nutjob conspiracy theories are your stock in trade.

In fact, if it weren't for nutjob conspiracy theories, you'd have no reason to live at all, would you?

  2. Poor Ivan
He dismisses legitimate claims from the right of government intrusions into Constitutional rights as, "nutjob conspiracy theories"...
    yet
He is so obtuse he cannot see the entire socialist movement is a conspiracy against American freedom.
He is the posterboy for Lenin's, "Useful idiots" statement.

    >legitimate claims from the right

    >Constitutional rights

Just what Constitutional rights do you imagine the current federal gov't has intruded into? Be specific or admit you're just talking crap.

    >the entire socialist movement is
    >a conspiracy against American
    >freedom.

Oh, boo hoo. Everybody hates "American freedom."

But enlighten us . . . What "socialist movement?" Where is it based? Who leads it? What makes you think it targets "American freedom?"

But then, let's face it -- you're just parroting some paranoid rightoid talking points you heard coming from Rust Limberger or Glenn Dreck. You don't have a clue what you're talking about.

    >He is the posterboy for Lenin's
    >"Useful idiots" statement.

Except that Lenin never made that statement.

Seems the only idiot around here is you.
