THE PHILOSOPHY OF GOVERNMENT

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…”

What exactly are the principles of our government, as passed down to us by our Founding Fathers?

1. That all men are created equal:

Thomas Jefferson cut to the crux of the issues facing the Americans colonists in reference to the class heavy English mother country and that is, that all men are created equal in the eyes of God. That we are all given strengths and weaknesses by the Creator and that we have the free will to do what we will with them, for good or bad, but that we will be judged in the end, against all mankind, as equals. Indeed, we are all equal in being given a sense of right and wrong, a ”moral compass” that should guide us through life. Those of us who believe in a Creator, organized religion set aside for a moment, are well aware that in the eyes of God, that we are no better than the guy standing on the street corner. We are created in His image and His likeness and thus, no better or worse than anyone else. Along with the strengths and weaknesses that the Creator bestows on us, we are given talents as well, or as Rush Limbaugh puts is so well, “talent on loan from God.” If the person does not use those talents and thus does not profit from them, they truly reap what they sow. Where one person uses their God-given talent to get ahead in life and obtains a modicum of success, that is where they separate themselves from the losers in life. Some people are more successful than others and it is what it is. What liberals fail to note is that those who succeed more have more expected of them in their secular life and where God is concerned. The Gunny may become a CEO, for example, and have 1,000 people in his payroll, and be loving life but when he stands before his Creator, he will be judged for what he has done for others, equally, as others have been judged.

What really bothers the ProgStats (Progressive Statists) is that the inconsistencies in the above phrase from Jefferson have been corrected, i.e., slavery, AND the principle Jefferson espoused above remains alive in America today! One can come here dirt poor, hold their noses to the grindstone, and make something of themselves, a task not easily done anywhere else in the world. The American Dream is alive and well, IF one is willing to work for it, and the Left hates it. All men are created equal but do not DEVELOP equally.

2. There is a Creator:

In God We Trust is on our money. It used to be chiseled into government buildings, as were things like the Ten Commandments (a set of morals and values that became the cornerstone of Western Civilization and our laws for over 2,000 years) before the rise of the ACLU and the Leftist scumbags who cling to one letter between two men, and mewl about the separation of church and state. In fact, one activist judge recently ruled that if he heard anyone praying at a sporting event, he’d chuck them in the slammer! Where the hell does this asshat think he is? The former Soviet Union? We can thank liberals for using their attack dogs in the the ACLU to ban formal prayer from public schools. So how’s that working for ya libs? Teen Pregnancy? Drugs in school? Violent crimes? Sex ed for kindergartners? Sexting? It is especially disturbing when one researches this subject and finds that in 1892, the SCOTUS declared the US “a Christian nation" but somehow, the liberals kicked the Creator out of the country faster than they would an illegal alien...maybe because the illegals always vote Democrat.

Yep, let a prayer go up at a high school football game, say, for good playing, sportsmanship, and the safety of the players and the ACLU charges off to the SCOTUS bleating that one liberal idiot was offended and thus, in following the tyranny of the minority agenda of the Leftists, ALL PRAYER MUST BE BANNED!

3. We have certain unalienable rights:

The reason that the word "unalienable" was included in The Declaration Of Independence is because "unalienable" means that our rights, as bestowed upon us by our Creator, cannot be taken away by anyone, including the government. Indeed, one cannot voluntarily surrender them to someone else and enter into bondage (unless one is a freaky S&M loving liberal). However, liberals have been attacking Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness on all fronts. Consider Life and that the government, especially this regime what with Doctor Death Berwick running the show along with Doctor "Mengele" Emanuel and their death panels as well as liberal’s rabid embrace of abortion, seeks to end life rather than protect it. Life means nothing to liberals who would dispose of an infant, and they do it all of the time, like it was a piece of garbage, just ask "Kill em All Holdren.

Remember what the liberals stated about Sarah Palin’s child who was born with a mental deficiency? Kill it, Abort it, Retard, Inbred Retard, etc. That says a lot about their view of human life, especially when they embrace tyrants like Stalin (via Walter Duranty) who murders about 20 million of his own citizens. As far as Liberty goes, we have been under siege through excessive taxation, Ponzi Scams like Social Security where our money is FORCIBLY TAKEN from us, hundreds of thousands of regulations for commercial transactions and interstate commerce, income tax, capital gains tax, gas tax, death tax, and a hundred more taxes that deny us the right to keep the fruits of our labor! It is quite clear that liberals equate material success with moral depravity and debauchery. Thus they "feel" that they can then force us to "redistribute" our wealth and giving it the lazy and stupid in our society, in order to buy votes. Voter fraud is just another tactic used by the Left to deprive us of our Liberty. Open borders. Appeasing Enemies. Backroom deals in Congress. ObummerKare. Crap and Tax. Salt bans. Transfat bans. Nullifying laws we pass like Prop 8.

The Pursuit of Happiness: We have the God-given right to pursue any lawful business, vocation, invention process, schooling, training, etc, that serves to increase our wealth, our quality of life, our mental faculties, anything that we hold dear, etc, that allow us the highest enjoyment of our existence as Americans. Our Founders so embraced this notion that one of the more guarded ideals was the ideal of private property. To wit:

"The private property of which every Man has in his own labor, as it is the original foundation of all other property, is the most sacred and inviolable."

In other words, if your work for it, you own it and no one can take it from you. Indeed, one’s calling in life, their trade, their business, their pursuits whatever they may be (as long as they don’t harm the rights of others) have been a part of human life from the outset, except under leftist tyrants. We expect to be free in this country to pursue them without government hindrance, along with every other citizen of the United States. It is our birthright. To be free to pursue the American Dream and not have government in the way or trying to make our decisions for us. If it makes someone happy to gorge themselves on Big Macs and weight 400 lbs, then rock on but they should not expect free medical care at the expense of others, which is a violation of the rights of others. When any of our God-given rights are taken by government without due process of law, the result is tyranny, and this is what we stand against. The tyranny of the minority and the abuse of our rights by activist judges acting under a leftist agenda.

It is apparent, or it should be, that private property is necessary to the subsistence of the individual and this nation as a whole. It provides a security that serves to unite our society and from ancient times to the present, no one would become a member of a society, group, or a community, where they could not enjoy the fruits of their labor. That is why Marxism FAILS over and over and over. The Constitution is strict on the right of acquiring, possessing, and protecting the private property acquired by its citizens. This is why eminent domain, as practiced by SCOTUS Judge Souter, violated the Constitution by taking property from one citizen and giving it to another (a developer), in order to raise the tax base, because the local government demanded it.

4. The Government is supposed to protect our rights:

It is without a doubt that the proper function of government is to protect our God-given rights. What their main function is, is to protect us from other people and other countries. It is not the proper function of government to protect us from ourselves or the results of their actions. That falls into the realm of individual responsibility (which the liberals have worked to destroy since the 60’s). We as individuals are responsible for our actions and must benefit or suffer from the consequences of those actions. That is where crapulence like ObummerKare treads on the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence. Indeed, the Consent of the Governed does NOT mean a rule of majority opinion, which is nothing more than mob rule, as liberals would have us believe. The ONLY thing that we the people can do is allow, permit, grant, the Federal Government to do only what we ourselves have the right to do, which is to protect our own rights. For example, we inherently have the right to self-defense and when attacked, we can apply deadly force to the miscreants without fear of reprisal (unless one lives in a Blue State). Thus, we allow the Federal Government to apply deadly force to the vermin who attack society as a whole, or rather, they USED to do it. Now they just hold them until they die in prison, and we foot the bill. Somehow, the Gunny thinks .17 behind their ear, after a fast and fair trial, is more economically sound.

5. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed:

The Federal Government today has little resemblance to what our Founding Fathers wanted for this nation, i.e., ObummerKare being forced down out throats and Nazi Pelosi walking through the Tea Party with her big gavel, in an "in your face" moment (trying to provoke violence by the Tea Party). Perhaps one of the most crucial elements for us today on the Right, is to educate young Americans about the foundation of our government and why it is so important to elect someone who vows to uphold our rights, to lead it. We consent to be governed by a government that seeks to legitimately protect our freedom and our rights as Americans, nothing more, nothing less. They cannot act by doing things that we ourselves cannot do, i.e., the just powers of the governed. The Gunny cannot simply walk up to someone and lay a "tax" on them for providing them "protection" against some illusionary violence, that is called extortion. Yet the Federal Government, through its excesses, can impose a social security tax on us, that they rape, pillage, and plunder, raising the tax as they go along, covering their tracks. That is an illegitimate act of government because it violates our rights by taking the life, liberty or the property of someone for the redistribution to others. Think about welfare, medicare, medicaid and how we're robbed to pay for it and how it is frauded, again and again and again. THIS is why it is so important to elect someone who vows to uphold our rights, to lead us, not rule us. All of the seizures, i.e., progressive income tax, EITC, welfare, etc, all fall under the umbrella of illegal government actions when put to the Constitutional test.

Our Founders were geniuses, that much is true. They knew that the rights of the people may conflict with an out of control federal government and thus, the Tenth Amendment, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people," was meant to keep them from trampling our rights, or it used to. Indeed, the consent to be governed by a just government empowers the minority to enjoy their unalienable rights and freedom again, under a just government that protects the rights of all.

Perhaps the best summation of the fifth principle of government was Ronaldus Magnum’s famous quote:

"Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free."

We allow the government to govern us, not rule us. And when they seek tyrannize us through oppressive rule we must exercise all non-violent means to replace them, i.e., clean house in November, but if they leave us no choice, i.e., Democrat voter fraud through Amnesty by Executive Order?

  1. All this is true Gunny and the history and prediction of what you say is here in 1 Samuel 8 (King James Version) starting at about verse 10. The founding fathers knew the bible like the back of their hands and as you say tried their best to prevent this from happening to our new country. The binobama is a true son of belial.

I like Glenn Beck,he does a good job trying to teach young people about the real America,children today are being brainwashed at an early age with progressive liberalism,Disney is at the forefront with this crap and Television is packed with liberal propaganda 24/7,but does it work?hell yes,oh well,good article.

    You make a good point on TV but I believe IMHO, that is, that there is a revival going on in America right now. The libs pushed us as far as we'll go. BTW, I educated my kids through right actions and rebutting the crapulence that they heard in school and on TV with logical argument and showing the proof to them. Nothing like the facts to trump liberalism! haha

  5. Very well put Gunny (love the Reagan quote at the end)! This is the land of opportunity. The founding fathers were a different breed than that of their fellow Europeans. They came here knowing that they would face incredible hardship, but they were the dreamers, the creators, they were the people that could stand to be dismissed as inferior because of a class system. They were inventors, business people, humanitarians, tougher, stronger smarter yet gentler, wiser and more humble.
    I very recently had an exchange with one of my trolls. I mentioned a friend of mine who came to the US from Viet Nam about ten years ago. I told him how he worked busing tables and then going out after work and picking beer cans out of the trash until he could find a second job. After ten years of hard work and opening his own business he is now worth $5,000,000.00. His response was "I don't know how your friend managed to do so extraordinarily well, but, if it's true, he should write a book"
    He doesn't get it. My friend worked 100 hours a week, weekends, holidays, what ever. I know what it's like to worry about making payroll for my employees, that's what makes us the great nation we are. God I love this country!

    I am humbled by my ancestor who came from what is now Czechosolvakia in the late 1880's and straight into the coal mines, at age 14! ONE GENERATION LATER we were out of the mines and catering to the needs of miners with a tavern/restaurant.

    I have relatives who are very successful who work well over 60 hours a week, often work on Sat/Sun, have a blackberry, etc, and they deserve what they have. I have liberal relatives who are little more than parasites who HATE going to work, often out on faked disability, etc.

  9. I don't know if my last post came through or not. I was totally knocked off of the web, and back to my homepage before I was through spouting off!!
    I was telling you what a good post, and how you are getting better and better.
    Then I told you that I just heard that China is going through a slow period, perhaps the start of a recession, and we might be in deep muddy, water. We may be knocked back to times when the people of this country had to struggle and fight for everything they got. Therefore, they were willing to hang a horsethief, and shoot a thief. ( course that will mean that congress will be eliminated, and we will be looking for a new president really soon.)

    I feel that we are going to be forcibly reduced to simpler times and simpler methods because what we have now is unsustainable. I was born 100 years too late so I'm cool with it!
