GOODBYE AMERICA, IT WAS NICE TO KNOW YOU

It is hard to be optimistic about America's future while watching this. Watching these mindless drones trample one another to save a few bucks on crap that they will likely use once or twice is unsettling. Imagine, as the film suggests, when the inner cities have no food. Guns and a lot of ammo, along with food, will become the new currency.

  1. Pretty disgusting. I guess Brian's bread and circus column was on the money, nearly 2 years ago! Every. time. I see people spending boatloads of money on things that are not a necessity, I cringe.
I am a planner, but it still has me on edge. Bernanke talking about QE3 and then a deal to extend unemployment yet again? UFB!

  2. Guns and ammo.
I've been saying this for a long time.
Ammo is the poor man's gold.
Glenn Beck et al keep telling everyone to buy gold but if you are on a fixed income you probably can't afford so much as a double eagle.
So buy ammo. Doesn't even need to be in "your" caliber. Somebody'll need it if times get to where the gold merchants are predicting. I can visualize trading brass, primers, bullets and even powder because all these items are in the bull's eye of the anti-gun crowd.
Primers. The Achilles heel. You can save your brass and mold your bullets. You can even make gunpowder. But you cannot make a primer.
I don't worry so much about the price of gold as all the above would be mediums of exchange in a time that may or may not befall us.

  3. Nee,

When the bottom falls out, they'll be screwed and rightly so.

  4. Buck,

I could not agree more. I am actually buying American silver eagles at 30.00 per. Estimates shows that silver might go to $250/oz. Check it out.

    On primers, INDEED!

  6. Makes me sick to see how these people behave. If it really gets to a hyperinflation situation where everything is scarce I will indeed be a wealthy man. To all those looters and drones I say: Molon Labe!

I thank God that my family does not get sucked into that crap.

  8. rikdergis,

Molon Labe indeed. When it happens, it's gonna be ugly. The US Army is ALREADY planning for it and THAT is scary.

  9. That video was scary and completely on the mark on all points.

Some of us are outraged...the rest are at the mall.

In the meantime I'm all stocked-up and ready for anything. All my buddies are too.

I am reminded of a story a few years ago when power was lost for 4 days in Rockville MD (just outside of DC) due to an ice storm. The locals began rioting, breaking windows, looting, etc.

Then it was reported that the power outage was localized to only 16 square blocks.

I am left to imagine what would happen in a real crisis. Probably something akin to Haiti or New Orleans.

Regarding the US Army, Gunny is correct. Very scary!! This was confirmed to me some months ago by several of my friends who maintain contacts high up the food chain at the Pentagon. Planners fully realize that there are 80 million guns in citizen's possesion. There lies the problem.

The sheer fact that this situation is being evaluated and planned is most alarming. Naturally, this directive comes from the TOP so my sources say.
